Our Mission Statement: To maintain and improve all district facility buildings and grounds in a manner which positively contributes to the learning experience of each student by providing a safe, clean , healthy environment while supporting community pride in appearance.
The Buildings and Grounds Department consists of five branches; Custodial, Energy Management, Grounds, Environmental, and Structural. We are charged daily with cleaning and maintaining over 2,000,000 square feet of facilities. Our responsibilities include maintenance and repair of electrical, plumbing, heating/ventilating systems, structural components, operating a computerized energy management system for all facilities, overall custodial cleaning, grounds and athletic field upkeep, vehicle maintenance, environmental and indoor air quality, and managing and constructing or contracting all work for capital improvement projects, and the remodeling and renovation of our educational and support facilities. Work orders are submitted, routed, assigned, and their progress monitored online through the use of a computerized work order program. During the course of an average year, our technicians complete approximately 4,000 to 5,000 work order request from schools and the district office.
The work of the Buildings and Grounds Department involves timely and effective response to the needs to the district. Our goal is to maintain the highest standards for a safe, healthy learning environment and to support educational excellence through the prudent management of resources.
