Nurse Jan Burdette
I'm Jan Burdette, School Nurse at T.L. Hanna High School. I have been a school nurse for 19 years with 15 of those years at T.L. Hanna. I have been a nurse for 27 years and was a public health nurse with SC DHEC for 8 years prior to working in Anderson School District Five. I have certifications in CPR, AED, IV therapy and I am a BLS CPR instructor.
In 2015, after a lengthy process and going before the Senate Medical Affairs Committee in Columbia, I was appointed by Governor Nikki Haley as a Board Member on the South Carolina State Board of Nursing. It has been an honor and privilege to represent my fellow nurses.
I started my college career in Elementary Education at Lander University before changing my major to nursing at Tri-County Technical College. I feel that I have "the best of both worlds", being a nurse in an educational setting. I truly love my job and coming to "school" each day. I strive to treat each student as if they were my own child. I am married and have a grown daughter that attended T.L. Hanna High School.
If I can ever be of assistance to you, please do not hesitate to call or email me.
