Mrs. Whitehead's Agriculture and Biosystems Science classes designed and built benches for Magnolia Point Community in Pendleton. Students researched designs, and material costs to provide a proposed project to the community Home Owners Association. After the presentation, the HOA decided on a design and cost that suited their needs. Students utilized the design selected and applied mathematics, engineering, and mechanics to build the benches. Students measured lumber, calculated angles, assembled and finished the benches. Community HOA Vice President, Ms. Cindi Long, delivered tokens of appreciation while speaking to students about their experiences during the bench building process.
