Welcome to Mrs. Fennell's Reading Intervention Classroom

This is my eighth year as an Interventionist at Centerville Elementary.  I am working with small groups for thirty-forty minutes per group.  The students' are taught using Leveled Literacy Intervention (LLI).  It is a proven system that meets the needs of most students.  It addresses phonics, fluency and comprehension.   The groups are based on individual needs of students.  Students will be served according to results of MAP scores, DRA, and classroom performance.  It is important for each child to use this time wisely as I will be able to give more individual attention than the regular education teacher.  Your child will be bringing home at least one book each day that we have previously read in LLI.  Please listen to your child read and ask them questions about the book.  They will gain so much from practicing reading at home.  Also, check out the websites I have posted on my page and please use to give your child extra practice at home.  We all must work together to help a child reach his/her highest potential.  Please feel free to contact me at any time if you have any questions.
