• The 6th Grade Technology course builds the skills an student will need to function in today’s global technological society. This course requires the student learn to use, and apply information technology effectively as a means to access, process, and communicate information, and to solve problems. Technology includes the study of proper keyboarding technique, and enables students to identify, access, evaluate, and acknowledge a wide range of information sources. The students will learn to recognize the parts of a system, input, processing, control, and output. With different application software and system software, the students will use the design cycle to develop their problem-solving, critical and creative thinking skills to create products/solutions with respect for others.  Students will study Computer Science and Programming.  They will learn to write computer code. Course application software includes the Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Power Point, Excel, Publisher, Google Drive and Google Apps, School Wires web page, email, discussions, and Wiki blogs. Course systems software includes operating systems, networking systems. Course materials include computer hardware and software, printer.
