Welcome to kindergarten at Calhoun Academy of the Arts! My name is Meredith Cole. I am excited to work with you and your child this school year. It is going to be a year that is filled with fun, learning, and lots of adventures. I can’t wait to see what this year has in store for us. I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to you and your family.
I am a 2005 graduate of Anderson College where I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. After graduating I began my teaching career at Calhoun as a kindergarten teacher. I taught kindergarten for three years and then taught third grade for eight years. II am happy to be back in the kindergarten classroom working with your children.
I am married to my wonderful husband, Reed. We have a beautiful daughter (Manning Grace) that is 8 years old. She is a student at Calhoun. We also have another beautiful daughter named Anna Kathleen. She is 3 and has been such a joy. Our children are the lights of our lives. We are big Clemson Tiger fans and also find great joy in supporting the March of Dimes Organization since our first child was born ten weeks premature. When I do have some free time I enjoy reading, baking, crafting, and movie nights with my family.
I strongly believe that Kindergarten is the foundation that creates lifelong learners and it is my mission to instill a love of learning in my students. Good communication between teacher, parent, and child is imperative and with your help your child will have a successful kindergarten year. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you ever have any questions or concerns regarding your child. Attached to this letter is a magnet of contact information for you to keep and use when you need to get in touch with me. You will also find helpful information on my classroom website. A link to this website can be found on the Calhoun website under classrooms. Simply click on my name and enter our kindergarten world. I am also available for after school meetings but I ask that these meetings are requested in advance. By working together we will ensure that your child will have a successful kindergarten year. Again, I am looking forward to working with you and your child this school year. Let’s make it a great year!
