My name is Debbie Brown.  I am currently teaching first grade.  I have been teaching for 33 years in Kindergarten, first, and second grade.  For seven of those years, I taught Reading Recovery.

In church, I have worked with bed babies, kindergarten, first grade, middle schoolers, and high schoolers.  I even was a chaperone with a high school group who went to Romania (what a wonderful experience).  During college and for a few years after getting married, I was a church music director.  I love working with children!
In addition to this, I have been a care giver to two elderly ladies where I learned so much about how to care for those that are older than ourselves.  In all of my experiences, I have been the one who is supposed to help others, but what has happened is that I am the one who has learned the most and been blessed by all the experiences!
I have two children.  My daughter, Sharon, who is 27, got married 4 years ago and is living in Greenville with her husband, Clay. My son, Timothy, who is 30, is a security officer.  My husband, Tim, works at Clemson University as an electrician.  I have 3 dogs that I love having around.  Their names are Bean, Bailey, and Biscuit.
My parents are retired and live here in Anderson.  I have three brothers:  one that is an Anderson County Policeman, one that has his own landscaping/Pest Control business after retiring from the Army, and one that is a pastor in Moncks Corner, SC.  I have a sister that lives in Pendleton and teaches English at Riverside Middle School. Family is very important to me.
My hobbies are singing, playing with animals, working in my gardens, and reading good books for fun!
