    We are moving right along with the 3K school year, and we are busy, busy, busy learning lots of new things! We have a VERY special family project this month, so PLEASE work on it and get it in as soon as possible. Take a look at the newsletter for this month to see what is going on at school.     Weekly Homework:

     

     

    We are still working on Thinking Maps. Please continue to send in shapes for our charts, and send in pictures, drawings, small objects, or magazine clippings that show different shapes. Instead of looking for plain shapes; look for THINGS that are the shape. Happy hunting!

     Family Project:

     

     

    We are so excited about the project this month! We have been learning about community helpers and lots of jobs! We are making a classroom display in the hallway with your projects. Make a poster of what your child wants to be when he/she grows up. Remember to have him/her show special tools, uniforms, or other things they will use in that job. Decorate it anyway you like. Use pictures, stickers, or anything else that represents you to make your career choice special. Make it fun, and be creative. Most of all, HAVE FUN!!

     

     

    We need a poster from EVERY student to complete our class display, so PLEASE get these done. They are due on or before Mon., Mar. 10

     

     

     

     

    Units of Study:

     

     

    Community Helpers – We will learn about types of jobs we can have when we grow up along with special tools helpers use for jobs.

     

     

    Transportation – We will learn about cars, trucks, trains, boats, buses, planes, and lots more, and where they travel: on land, in the air, in water, or on tracks.

     

     

     

    Independence:

     

     

    We are working hard to be sure we support your child as he/she develops independence and becomes a “big kid.” We need your help by allowing your child to walk into the classroom, put away his/her own bookbag, use the restroom, and wash hands without your help. Please stop at the door unless you need to speak with us about your child. You are welcome to visit any time, but we need to be able to make decisions about your child’s readiness, and we cannot do that if we only see the things you do for your child instead of what he/she can do alone. Thank you for your help and understanding!
