Reading and Math in GT
In GT I will alternate between reading and math, meaning I will teach one week of reading and the next week math for the entire school year. We will use the Junior Great Books program which is a nationally known reading program. This program helps students extend essential literacy skills that will help them further analyze text. These skills include: thinking critically, reading carefully, listening, and speaking and writing persuasively. For math we will use Mentoring Mathematical Minds which is a nationally recognized curriculum for the Gifted and Talented students.

Notes to Parents
Your child will not have homework in my class. We will complete all work during class, unless there is something I really need them to finish at home.
Your child may take his/her folders or notebooks home at any time, especially when they have a quiz or test to study for. I just ask that they remember to bring it back to class.
