I am from boat docks.

From Yamahas and Evinrudes.

I am from the Gulf Coast with salty, fishy, humid air.

I am from back bays full of weekend warriors.

I am from tight lines and sunglass tans.

From Captain Chip and Mayron the Crabber.

I am from laughter and smiles.

From stand up straight and make your bed.

I’m from Sunday morning services and uncomfortable church pews.

I’m from sun drenched Southwest Florida, fried fish, and sweet tea.

From the camping and fishing trips with my family,

to the offshore fishing trips with my late father.

I am from lessons learned, and wisdom shared.

I am from Family.

I am from Love.
