Ms. Robin Cathey

Director of Student Services/Registrar 

Background

Ms. Cathey is a graduate of Anderson School District Five and began her career as a mathematics teacher at McDuffie High School in 1992.  She taught mathematics at McDuffie High School from 1992-1996 and at TL Hanna High School from 1996-2004.  She transitioned to Lakeside Middle School in 2004 and served as a counselor from 2004-2008.  Most recently, Ms. Cathey served as a counselor at TL Hanna High School from 2008-2020.  She has also served as an adjunct mathematics instructor at Tri-County Technical College from 2002-2004 and is a certified Global Career Development Facilitator and a Certified Career Services Provider. She is honored to serve the students, parents, faculty, and staff at the Anderson Institute of Technology as the Director of Student Services.

Responsibilities:

As Director of Student Services/Registrar, Ms. Cathey serves as the liaison for Anderson Districts 3, 4, and 5 to provide support to counselors and career specialists. She advocates for preparing students for Career Pathways and collaborates with school counselors and career specialists on efforts to positively impact student achievement and postsecondary planning. She develops partnerships with districts and non-district personnel and institutions of higher learning to augment the resources available to students through the school counseling and career readiness programs including, but not limited to, dual credit opportunities, institutions of higher education, college/career fairs, and financial aid events. Ms. Cathey also develops College and Career Pathways unique to the needs of students in collaboration with the school staff, community input, and labor market demands to develop coherent sequences of courses in multiple areas.
