Mrs. Cary Rita

I was born and raised in South Carolina. My passion for agriculture developed early in my childhood. My mother, who graduated from Clemson with a B.S. in Animal and Veterinary Sciences, and I were always bring home sick animals to nurse back to health. My father would speak about life on the tobacco farms and the importance of hard work. My Fall seasons were spent eating peanuts and watching my grandfather judge livestock shows at the local and state fairs.

During my time at Clemson University, I challenged myself to gain experience with every animal available at the university. I showed dairy cattle, completed research at the swine and beef farm, helped a fellow collegue at the poultry farm, and took riding lesson at the equestrian farm. I even assisted in research on sharks! I also continued to work at a local small animal veterinary practice where I gained experience in animal handling, laboratory techniques, surgical procedures, and radiology.

My husband and I own a small farm in Anderson, SC. We have horses, pigs, chickens, cats, and a dog. Most of our free time is spent on our farm, riding horses, or enjoying adventures with our friends.
