My name is Katherine Garris. This will be my seventh year as head volleyball coach at Glenview. Volleyball is my passion! I've played volleyball for 23 years, starting in the 7th grade. I played at Daniel High School in Central, SC and earned a full scholarship to play at Appalachian State University in Boone, NC and ended up being a 4 year starter there. With a passion for volleyball along with my love of teaching, I knew coaching was something I wanted to do. My first coaching job was right out of college when I started teaching at Westside High School. I was the head coach of the Varsity team for 4 seasons as well as coaching for some local club teams. I took a break from coaching at school and just coached club for a while. In 2011 I was the assistant coach for Glenview's inaugural season and in 2012 became head coach. Even though I always thought I'd stay coaching at the high school level, I have really come to enjoy coaching at the middle school level. As a coach, I witness so much improvement and such desire from the girls at this age and it keeps me inspired and adds another dimension to my love for volleyball.
