    Junior Leadership Anderson (JLA) Announcement:

Junior Leadership Anderson invites all Anderson County high school juniors who are interested in participating in Junior Leadership Anderson 2019 to apply. Junior Leadership Anderson is a leadership development program sponsored by the Anderson Area Chamber of Commerce that encourages and empowers young people for leadership roles of the future. Students will learn about the Anderson community by touring businesses and agencies as well as meeting with community leaders. Thirty to thirty-five juniors from Anderson County high schools will be selected to participate in the program which will take place from January through May.

Juniors will have an opportunity to complete the JLA application on Tuesday, October 9 at 9:45 in the Media Center at Westside High School.  A representative from JLA will be at Westside to discuss the program and the application process.  It is important for students to have a charged Chromebook and a completed resume to bring to the meeting. The application must be completed on October 9th during the meeting.  Students should pick up an information packet from the Guidance Office prior to Oct. 8th.

Juniors who plan to take a Dual Enrollment Course Spring 2019 need to consider potential conflicts with JLA dates and when their college class meets. Westside will excuse any school day that is missed for JLA but the days missed for JLA will not be excused on the college level.

If you have questions, please contact your school counselor.
