I am a native of Anderson, South Carolina; I grew up on Anderson Mill Village in a four room home. The people in my life who were the biggest influence in my decision to become an educator were my first grade teacher, Mrs. Tyner and my fifth grade teacher, Mrs. Lottie Smith at Estes Elementary School. Before I became a teacher, I worked in a textile mill for a few years and eventually became a "stay at home" mother.
In my spare time, I travel, volunteer at AIM, participate on stage and behind the scenes at ECP where I enjoy acting, producing, and managing. I love kayaking, biking and hiking ; I try to do each several times a month.
I currently reside in Anderson County with my husband on a mini horse farm. I have four horses and seven chickens.
I am the mother of two awesome sons, Eric and Gerritt and the mother-in-law to Melissa Wicker. I am also the proud Oma of a beautiful grandson.
My favorite thing to do is travel around the world!
