I have over twenty-seven years’ experience teaching high school, the first eleven years as a math teacher.  I hold a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Clemson University, hold a secondary teaching license in Mathematics, and am Gifted and Talented endorsed.  I have also spent five years on active duty with the United States Navy holding the rank of Lieutenant Commander and was an assistant plant engineer for a textile company for three years before becoming a teacher.

As a Project Lead the Way Master Teacher,  I spend the summers teaching a Principles of Engineering Class to teachers at the University of South Carolina and other universities.  The Project Lead the Way organization uses Master Teachers such as me to prepare teachers to teach these pre-engineering classes.  It is during this summer training that I get to work with university engineering professors and I am able to stay current on what freshmen engineering students need in order to be prepared for that first year of college.
