Mr. Cason is the art teacher for Varennes Elementary. He graduated from the University of South Carolina (1981) where he earned a B.F.A. in Studio Art. He then decided to teach art after working in the graphic arts world for over 30 years. He returned to school and earned his B.S. in Art education (2004) and then his Masters (2011) from South Carolina State University. He has also earned his Gifted and Talented endorsement. He is also a member of the Kappa Delta Pi honor society. Prior to teaching art to the wonderful students here at Varennes Elementary he taught at Sheridan Elementary, McCants Middle School, and Glenview Middle School. 

He is married to his wife, Gail, and jointly they have six children and nine grandchildren. They currently live on a small farm with a dozen goats, two donkeys, and one cow. Aside from working on their little farm and in the great outdoors, Mr. Cason, of course, enjoys spending his free time drawing and painting.
