My name is Rodney Burdette, and I am teaching World History. This is my 9th at Westside High School, and 10th year overall. In that time I have taught World Geography, World History, US History, and Government/Economics. I was born and raised here in Anderson. I am a 2006 graduate of Crescent High School, and a 2010 graduate of Erskine College in Due West, SC with a Bachelor's Degree in Social Studies and Secondary Education. 

 

I was married in July of 2018 to Makaela McCartha, who also teaches at Westside. She teaches Algebra I in the 9th Grade Academy and is the Head Varsity Volleyball coach.

 

This year begins my 10th year as an assistant football coach. I am the quarterbacks coach for the JV football team. This is also my 5th year as the head JV Boys Soccer coach. Go Rams!

 

This will also be my 8th year heading Fellowship of Christian Athletes. I was fortunate enough to be able to help get FCA started at Westside after an extended abscence, and am excited as this group continues to grow. Anyone interested, whether an athlete or not, I would invite to join us on Fridays at 7:30 in the AV room! (This will change due to COVID).

 

I am also over all website and social media for Westside High School, Westside Athletics, and the Westside Football program specifically.
