Mrs. Diantha Litwer
Hi, everyone and welcome to my page! I'm the 6th Grade special education English Language Arts (ELA) inclusion teacher. I team teach with Mrs. Collier, Mrs. Dilworth, and Mrs. Lawson in some of their ELA classes. I also have one class period where students come to my room for additional instruction in reading.
I was born and raised in El Paso, Texas and graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in Elementary Education and Special Education. (Yes, I did have several horses. No, I never participated in a rodeo. Yes, I can speak some spanish. And no, I'm not real keen on Mexican food). I have a Master's degree in Special Education from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. I have lived in and taught special education in Texas, Louisiana, Kansas, Maryland, and South Carolina.
My husband is a high school chemistry and physics teacher at Saluda High School. We have a daughter and a son. Our daughter lives and works in Columbia and our son lives and works in Myrtle Beach. We have two cats which we adopted from the animal shelter. Their names are Harry and Misty. They are indoor cats and don't go outside at all. We also have a really big yard with squirrels, chipmunks, rabbits, deer, and lots of birds.
I am here to help your son or daughter better understand and participate in his or her ELA class, and to help them increase their reading skills. If you have questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to call the school and leave a message for me or send me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
I'm looking forward to wonderful, exciting year!
