Mrs. Bennett-Morris

This is Ms. Bennett's third year at Varennes Elementary and her twenty-fifth year teaching in South Carolina. She graduated from Lander University in Greenwood, SC with a degree in Elementary Education. She has a Masters of Education degree in Gifted Education, an Educational Specialist degree in Curriculum and Instruction as well as an Educational Specialist degree in Educational Administration, all from Converse College. Previously, she has taught grades K5 - 6th, in addition to Gifted Education and Computer Technology.

Before coming to Anderson School District Five, she spent 16 years in Greenville County Schools, three years in Richmond County Schools, and three years in the Aiken County Schools. Ms. Bennett is an "I Want to Be" grant winner, has been recognized as one of the "Who's Who Among American Teachers," is a proud member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., and currently is in the districts Aspiring Assistant Principals Program. She has two sons who are active in sports, especially football. Chauncey is 16 and a Junior at Riverside High School, and Owen is a 10 year old at Varennes Elementary School. In her spare time, Ms. Bennett likes to cook, crochet, and read (though not necessarily in that order). She is currently reading "What Great Principals Do Differently."
