Stacy Coleman

Hi! Ms. Coleman here and I teach Digital Art & Design at AIT! I graduated from Anderson University with a B.A. concentrating in Graphic Design. This is my fourth year teaching, although I joined the district with over 16 years of industry experience. Prior to teaching, I was an art director with Confluence Outdoor, where I was responsible for creating branding and marketing materials for nine kayak/whitewater brands as well as overseeing and managing lifestyle photo shoots for new product launches. I am an Adobe Certified Specialist, with expertise in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and Indesign. I also do freelance in my free time and absolutely love food, music and art/design! I am always thrilled about the opportunity to teach young artists and help to develop them as digital designers.

  • The Digital Art & Design Pathway consists of Digital Art & Design 1, 2 and 3. Sudents ideal for this pathway should have an interest in art and design, both commercial and fine. The classes cover many approaches to digital art such as digital illustration/painting, graphic design, brand development, character design, animation and portfolio development. Students have the opportunity to learn art concepts that reinforce traditional art training — those being design thinking, the creative process, elements & principles, photography, t-shirt/sticker production and much more. This pathway offers the opportunity for certification in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Indesign, which can provide competitive edge in both secondary education and/or the workforce. Students may also join career and technology student organizations, such as FBLA or SkillsUSA, as well as qualifying for the opportunity to participate in competitive events. All potential completers of the program must execute a CAPSTONE project which will be presented to parents, various members of the community, faculty/staff and other school officials. This pathway is for highly motivated, detail-oriented students who enjoy thinking and reasearching and have a desire to create beautiful artwork that can be viewed as both aesthetic and functional.
