Mr. James Fowler

Welcome to Machine Tool Technology at AIT! My name is James Fowler and I come to AIT With over 20 years of industry experience. This will be my 2nd year teaching Machine Tool Technology.  I have been married for 17 years and my wife is also a teacher in Greenville County, we have 2 sons ages 14 and 9.  We enjoy going to the beach, mountains, and enjoying family activties together. 

  • In Machine Tool Technology you will uncover an exciting world as to how things are made! Saftey is my first priority and is always #1 for your child.   All students will learn basic machine tool theory, how to calculate speeds and feeds and machine shop math throughout both semesters. 

    First Semester Students will learn Milling machone operations, Drill Press Operations, Lathe Operations, and Surface grinder operations.Students will have the opportunity to earn NIMS Level 1 Mill and Lathe Certifications.  

    Second semester students will Create a model Airplane engine as well as have the oportunity to earn NIMS level 1 Milling Machine and Lathe Certifications. Students will also learn basic g-code programming for CNC Mill and Lathe as well as basic 2d Mastercam operations and programming.
