Mrs. Davis

Mrs. Davis is the Reading Interventionist at Varennes Elementary, and her teaching career spans 30+ years. She graduated from Erskine College with a degree in Elementary Education in 1984, then returned to school at Nova Southeastern University. There she earned a Masters of Science in 2009.

She has previously taught all across the upstate of South Carolina at the following:

New Prospect Elementary Grade 4 - all subjects and Reading Interventionist - Grades K-5

Homeland Park Elementary Grades 4 and 5 - all subjects

Anderson Christian School Grades 2 and 3 - all subjects

John C. Calhoun Elementary Grade 5- Math and ELA

In her time teaching, she was recognized as Teacher of the Year at Homeland Park Elementary in 2004, and she earned her National Board Certification as a Middle Childhood Generalist in 2010 and 2020. Her family consists of her husband Gene, daughter Brenna, son-in-law Westleigh, granddaughter Augusta, and daughter Blaire. Mrs. Davis also has a wire-haired dachshund named Snoopy. When she is not using her previous experience and skill set to help students learn to love reading, she can be found reading, watching classic old movies, and antiquing.
