T.L. Hanna teacher selected for 2019 Riley Teachers of Government Program
Congratulations to Sarah Rinker, Teacher and Department Chair of Social Studies at T.L. Hanna High School! Sarah recently received the news that she has been accepted into the 2019 Riley Teachers of Government Program and will participate this Summer. This year's program will begin with hearing from faculty of Furman University's Department of Politics and International Affairs, then participants will fly out to Washington, D.C., for a week filled with important and exciting political, historical and educational experiences!
Sarah says she is especially looking forward to the opportunity to explore the National Archives, the Supreme Court, and touring the Capitol. She also will be able to meet with our Senators and Representative and discuss Education policy with them! Ms. Rinker says that this will be an amazing opportunity for her as an AP Gov and APUSH teacher, and she is definitely looking forward to sharing it with her students and department next school year!
Congratulations again to Ms. Rinker on the honor of being one of the select few out of numerous applicants chosen to participate in this wonderful opportunity in continuing to cultivate her career in the education profession!
