Arts Day at Whitehall
Friday, March 28, was Arts Day here at Whitehall. The day included music, visual arts, storytelling, writing, dance, and more. Special guests conducted workshops including Musical Inovations with ukuleles, Clemson University students with steel drums, quilting with Betsy Metheny, shagging with the Electric City Shag Club, photography using a drone with Josh Rigsby, storytelling from the Anderson County Library with Jennifer Simmons, the art of bee keeping with Robert Norris, and basket making with Patricia Torbert. Our district technology team brought workshops that gave students a chance to do some creative sculpting and explore ways to create sounds while learning about circuits. Our own Mrs. Bufford did a presentation of The True Story of the Three Little Pigs with the help of Mrs. Shady, Ms. King, and Mrs. Sanderson. Mrs. Yarborough and Mrs. Wilson led writing workshops inspired by the art of Youth Art Month Artists. Ms. Done gave students the opportunity to explore strings and Mrs. Maxwell did a spinning workshop.
Thank you Modern Woodmen for donating supplies for our classes at Whitehall!
