Anderson Five Educational Foundation

Mission Statement: 

To support our District Five Families and the mission of Anderson School District Five, which is to educate students who are college and career-ready and will positively contribute to an ever-changing world.

The Anderson School District Five Educational Foundation was created in the year 2000 with the approval of the District Board of Trustees. The Foundation is a 501(c) (3) organization and can accept tax-deductible charitable donations to support programs outside of federal and state government funds. The Foundation is governed by a five-member Board of Directors.

Past and continuing initiatives that are supported include:

District Five Homeless and Families In Need Program – These programs provide assistance for students, families, and staff in need using funds from private donors. The Foundation distributes funds received from  local churches and other private donors. Money from private donations also supplements for homeless and  students and their families when McKinney-Vento funds cannot be used due to guidelines tied to the federal grant. 

Teacher Grants – This program is funded by fellow employee donations and awards teachers grants to use for the purchase of supplies and other supplementary materials to enhance instruction. Teachers must apply with a project in mind that supports standards of learning set forth by the South Carolina Department of Education.

 Scholarships – The Educational Foundation receives scholarship donations  to be awarded to  students and help them achieve their goals of higher education.

A5Read2Babies - Funds donated toward this program are used to mail out high quality, age-appropriate books to future A5 students beginning at birth as an affiliate of the Dolly Parton Imagination Library. Anderson Five teachers and employees contribute via payroll deductions through the United Way Campaign. Anderson Five Educational Foundation is proud to partner with this exceptional program of book gifting made possible through the generosity of the Dolly Parton Foundation! 

Delta Dental - A grant from Delta Dental  provided toothbrushes and oral care products for every student in Anderson Five in addition to emergency dental care for students in need.

Bosch Community Fund - A grant from Bosch to fund robotics and drone classes as well as support school teams participating in local, regional, state, and national competitions.

Anderson Institute of Technology (Serving Districts 3, 4, and 5): 

Support for equipment and the training of students in mechatronics, manufacturing, automotive repair, and robotics is provided by the following companies: 

Bosch Community Fund -  For the last 2 cycles, the grant has supported  Mechatronics (equipment) and VEX scrimmages hosted at AIT for feeder elementary and middle schools.

AnMed - Donations for Classroom Supplies

Grainger Nissan - Funds for supplies and equipment supporting the automotive program

Dodge Industrial - Funds for supplies and equipment for the engineering programs.

Carolina Handling - Funds to support the elementary and middle VEX scrimmages hosted by AIT

Economic Development - Funds to provide stipends ($500.00) for eligible students who complete a 40-hour Work-based Learning Internship
